Foreland Fields School is a brand new SEN School which supports around 180 children with Profound, Severe and Complex Needs including ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder). This specialist school recently moved to a brand new facility located in Kent between Broadstairs and Ramsgate. The school features many outstanding on site facilities including specialist rooms and a hydrotherapy pool.
Installation of 16 x 65″ Genee Deluxe Interactive Screens.
Foreland Fields School initially looked at the possibility of ordering 20 screens in 1 phase, however due to budget constraints and their requirements for other technology throughout the school, they decided to spilt the project into 2 phases. For phase 1 Foreland Fields School requested SignalmanAV supply and install 16 65″ G-Touch Interactive Screens, with phase 2 to be commenced at a later date.
15 of the interactive screens were fitted to the walls while 1 was fitted to a premier floor trolley, to provide more flexibility in positioning and the option to move the screen to other parts of the school.
SignalmanAV worked closely with Kier Construction, to ensure the walls of the new classrooms would be strong enough to support the weight of the interactive screens. After being supplied the architectural specifications by Kier, SignalmanAV found that the walls were to have an inner layer of 12.5 mm to 15 mm Gyproc Soundbloc and an outer layer of 12.5 mm to 15 mm Rigidur plasterboard. To ensure safe fixture to the walls our engineers used heavy duty anchors securing them with an intersect gun.
Our engineers worked tirelessly to ensure installation would be finished before the school was due to open the following week, managing to install and test all 16 interactive screens within 4 days.
